Robin Hood airs on MGM+ and the 10-episode series welcomes a newcomer in the title role.

The series, which will release new episodes weekly, follows Rob and Marian as they work together to fight for justice and freedom following the Norman invasion of England in the Middle Ages.

While Rob becomes the infamous leader of a band of rebel outlaws, Marian infiltrates the Norman courts.

Together, they attempt to thwart royal corruption and bring peace to England.

Here is all you need to know about the star-studded cast.

Rob is played by Jack Patten, an Australian actor who previously starred in an episode of NCIS Sydney.

He also starred in the film War Machine, but Robin Hood marks his first major TV role.

Speaking of the opportunity with executive producers John Glenn and Jonathan English, he said: "Jonathan and I talked extensively about the legend of Robin Hood and why what we are doing is different.

"I told him that I would watch all the other versions of Robin Hood, but we came to an agreement that it was probably best that I don't watch them until we were done filming. What we are doing is different.

"And they enjoyed what I brought to the table in my auditions. That was what they were after. We talked about movies that we loved, directors we love, actors we love. I learned that way."

Marian is played by Lauren McQueen, a 29-year-old actress from Liverpool.

She is best known for playing Lily Drinkwell in Hollyoaks - a role that earned her two British Soap Awards.
